Perfectly proportioned 19th century chateau with additional older buildings, all totally renovated to a very high standard, no expense spared.....which one would hope for, in such a beautiful example of 19th century French architecture.
The other older house has been transformed into another unique residence, in keeping with its past: this is on the level below the chateau leading onto the parterre with the ornamental pool and fountain.
As you would expect the rooms are perfectly proportioned with the staircase central to the whole building; there are basically four large rooms on the first two levels, then on the third level there are two other bedrooms and a massive attic room with windows, bigger than the set of La Boheme.
The basement covers the whole building surface and is divided into a cave for wine, as well as central heating and storage sections.
The parkland gardens are on a gentle slope and are very mangeable, so lessen the need to hire a gardener, just to sit on your mower!!
The chateau is close to Angouleme, which has the TGV station-connection for Paris, Lille and London. Angouleme as well as Cognac (20 minutes further away) are very under-rated towns in the France wide context and good places to be near. Not forgetting the coast, which is about 90 minutes away; Bordeaux is a similar distance.
